Life is a cycle. Life is a wave. Without the down there is no up. Without the sadness how can you know what happiness is? Without the time being grounded how can you perceive flying? Without the dark how can we appreciate the sun?

This album is a look into the last few years of my life. It's a cycle. A journey through loss and being in love. Through dark days and long summer nights. The pleasure and relief that comes from substances but also through positive experiences. Essentially it is the search for a perfection that doesn’t really exist.

Growing up in a small town in England life can be pretty grey. Visits to family in California as a young boy instilled in me this search for that contentment that only comes from those long warm sunny days. It's so easy to get trapped in a circle of your day to day life and constantly wishing for the next thing. The grass is inevitably always greener. The sun is shining somewhere else, where that perfect life is waiting for you. It's just out of reach. We forget to look around once in a while and see the sunshine in our reality. It's in the faces that surround you.. the food you are blessed to consume.. your health.. the list goes on.

The eternal sunshine is the never ending summer.. the pursuit of happiness.. the dream that we shall dream forever. Although we are doomed to live a wave of ups and downs we strive for a life of complete happiness and satisfaction. Its different for all of us but in many ways we are the same. There are overlaps.

That constant state of happiness we are all striving for..
